Backyard Climber Austin TX Brookfield Residential

Summer is speeding by. Whether you’re kicking back at home and enjoying residential amenities or hitting the road, it’s important to squeeze as much fun as you can out of the remaining days. Here’s a list of family-friendly activities in Austin you can check out in July.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. Come in from the heat and enjoy a cool family flick at Kids Camp. Bonus: All ticket proceeds go to local nonprofit organizations.

Local Farmers Markets. Stroll the many vendors selling fresh produce and unique products at a farmers market near you. See something new? Don’t hesitate to give it a try.

Austin Public Library. The Latin American writer Jorge Luis Borges said, “I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library.” While Amazon is king, there’s still something very special about going to your local library. Must-see: The beautiful Austin Central Library downtown.

Thinkery. Speaking of inspiring minds, Austin’s home for the “why” and the “how” will get the whole family’s wheels spinning and spinning!

Bob Bullock Museum. This museum features multiple floors of the state’s past and present. Check out Sense-sational Thursdays (10-noon through July 25). The family experiences are designed to encourage exploration, observation and listening to the world around us.

The Contemporary Austin. Did you know that Second Saturdays at this art museum are for families? They invite you to rip, cut and sew at Laguna Gloria on Saturday, July 13.

Austin Parks and Recreation. The City of Austin is hosting Interactive Play Day at the Palmer Events Center on Saturday, July 13. Enjoy fun recreational activities, rock climbing, ninja warrior course, human foosball and more.

There’s so much to do in the Austin-metro area. Seize the day and the sizzle of summertime!
